I don’t think I can pick one book as my all-time favourite. But if I were to pick a book that has influenced me the most, it would the smart thinking book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey. I love this book. I was just on the cusp of making a leadership jump in my career and I was invited to attend a signature leadership training program by my company. The facilitator introduced the participants to this book in that program. I think it was the timing, my desire to improve myself, and the content of the book that just clicked.
This book has had a big impact on how I see the world and live my life. It teaches important lessons about being proactive, setting goals, and working well with others. The ideas in the book are easy to understand but powerful. They have helped me in my career and personal life. Now I recommend this book in almost every speaking session, workshop or training program I conduct.

Q. Do you have a favourite childhood book?
I don’t think I have a favourite childhood book. I loved reading comics, all kinds of comics. I also enjoyed reading Reader’s Digest.
Q. Do you prefer reading on paper, Kindle or listening to an audiobook?
I enjoy paper and audiobooks for different reasons. If it’s a business book, I would much rather read it on paper. If it’s a self-help or motivational book, I enjoy listening to those on audiobook, while I am walking or exercising, or traveling. I have not read books on Kindle.
Q. Do you have a favourite bookshop (and why that shop)?
Waterstones
My favourite bookshop in the US is Barnes & Noble. In the UK, I like Waterstones and Foyles. I like these bookstores because of their very large collection of business and self-help books. I can easily spend hours in these bookstores going through their collections, as I enjoy that experience. I like spending time in a bookstore, and these stores allow me to do that in a comfortable manner.
